Drainage system for flammable and toxic spills in tunnels
The Drainage System consists in a series of underground sumps along the carriageway for catching accidental spillages.
The sumps, connected to a centralized suction system, make it possible to carry the liquids from the spillage area to outside the tunnel.
Spillages will activate a suction system which, by introducing a fluid vector such as fresh air from the outside, will enable long-distance transportation of spillages from the sumps to outside the tunnel, where they can be sent to a receiving body or storage facility.
